Manor, Texas continues to grow, and two major retailers are officially on their way to the area: Academy Sports + Outdoors and Hobby Lobby.

For Manor residents who have been asking for more shopping options closer to home, this is another significant addition to the growing retail landscape along the Highway 290 corridor.

Academy Sports + Hobby Lobby Coming to Manor, TX

According to an August 2026 announcement from developer Broadstone Net Lease, the company secured land and began development on two build-to-suit retail projects in Manor for Academy Sports + Outdoors and Hobby Lobby.

Each store is expected to be approximately 55,000 square feet, meaning the two retailers will bring roughly 110,000 square feet of new retail space to Manor.

The projects began development in August 2026 and are currently targeted for 2027.

As with any project under development, timelines can change, so Manor residents should consider 2027 the current target rather than a guaranteed grand-opening date.

Where Will Academy Sports and Hobby Lobby Be in Manor?

The new retail development is along the US Highway 290 corridor in Manor, Texas, an area that has experienced considerable commercial and residential growth.

The Academy Sports project has been associated with 14018 US 290, Manor, TX 78653 in a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation project filing.

This location puts additional shopping along one of the primary corridors through Manor and continues the expansion of retail options available to residents without having to travel farther into the Austin metro.

What Does This Mean for Manor Residents?

One of the conversations I hear frequently as both a Manor resident and local REALTOR® is that people want more options for shopping, dining and entertainment closer to home.

The addition of Academy Sports + Outdoors and Hobby Lobby gives residents two more major retailers locally while adding to the broader commercial growth happening throughout Manor.

And these aren't the only changes happening here.

Between new home communities, new construction, retail development, restaurants and other businesses coming to the area, Manor looks very different than it did just a few years ago—and there is still more development underway.
